Went there on Monday and it wasn't open. So we went there the next day. Here's what we discovered... The good: (1) Fried chicken was good (and super fast, like a few seconds, which was weird). Got the half order and was surprised how big it was. The offered gloves were a surprisingly nice touch. They do that in many countries like China, but we didn't expect it in London because Westerners are okay with eating food (e.g., hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, pizza, donuts, etc.) with their bare hands. So we were pleasantly surprised with the gloves. (2) Kimchi chigae was yummy. Two kinds of meat, which is not typical and so it was nice. (3) The bulgogi was quite good. Thinly sliced like it's supposed to be. (4) The K-pop music that was playing was cool. The bad: (5) Someone wrote that the jiajangmyeong was good. This person only had instant jiajeiangmyeong before and didn't know what jiajianmyeong is supposed to taste like. It was way below average. (6) No banchang (side dishes). (7) The pickled side dishes that cost 11 pounds were horrible. The cucumber was very mushy, not crunchy. The radishes the same. The kimchi was barely okay. Really disappointed about this. Gave 4 stars but would give 3.52 if I could.

This was a VERY popular spot right right next to the British museum. To ensure you get a spot, I'd highly recommend calling in advance for a reservation, or try to que up around opening time (I did the latter with a small group of friends, 4 in total, and still had to wait 10 mins or so to get seated). The ambience inside is nice - the restaurant is surprisingly large with additional seating upstairs. A large TV was setup with music playing in the style of a karaoke machine (with lyrics showing on screen and a long list of songs in que - mainly KPOP). The food overall is pretty tasty, though it was pretty different to Korean food I've had in the past. The fried chicken was roughly chopped pieces of mostly white meat (I think only 1 drum in our 2 servings) and wasn't the battered kind (even though the menu pictures illustrated otherwise). I liked the Yangneum one better than the Lemon flavored one (which was a little too sweet). The Japjae was tasty but didn't have much of a soy sauce taste to it, but pretty heavy handed on the sesame oil. The mixed kimchi was a nice addition to the table, but the real star was the Kimchi and Pork stew. Again, not a style I was familiar with (it had wood ear mushrooms and button mushrooms) but it was HUGE and delicious. I would say it'd comfortable feed 3 adults. Be sure to order a bowl of rice to go with it! The glass noodles in the stew would soak up all the flavors and soup, making them tender and flavorful. Very yummy.

Very popular and bustling restaurant that had a nice ambiance! It super cool to see Jennie from Blackpink and RM from BTS have eaten here. My friend and I ordered Galbi Tang and bossam. Both dishes were dishes that I had never tried before, but they were very tasty. The soup was especially warming and hearty. The service was also terrific and everyone was super sweet.

being one of the few korean restaurants in central london, i was very pleased with Bi-Won! i went for lunch on a saturday and while we luckily did not have to wait to sit down, it was already pretty crowded and they recommended reserving tables in advance in the future. we ordered a kimchi stew and a yukae stew which both came with rice. while it wasn't the best stews i've ever had, they sufficiently satisfied my korean taste buds. it seemed like all the two people tables next to us were ordering 3+ entrees including the korean chicken, spicy rice cake and other classic dishes, but our two stews were more than enough to fully fill us up. we will probably go back again to try some other foods soon!

Decent Korean food in central London. The taste has been tailored for the Englishmen and isn't as authentic as I would have liked, but still a solid choice for Korean food. It hits the spot on days where I miss homemade Korean food.

One of the authentic Korean restaurants. One bad things is that the owner lady was very quick to get annoyed when we were being slow about ordering our food.

I would definitely recommend the barbecue here, they really have some amazing meat dishes perfectly suitable for grilling. Especially the pork belly and all of the beef dishes are a little bit of heaven on earth (and I used to be a pescetarian). I would always order side dishes such as letuce and kimchi as these are my favourites but I'm looking forward to tasting their others as well - to sum it up: south korea in London, close by British Museum if u wanna make a day out of it, enjoy! ;-)

Quick glance: + authentic taste + unassuming decor + friendly waitress Full review: I visited Bi-Won for a late Sunday lunch with a friend. The restaurant has about 10 tables or so on the ground floor, with mostly Korean diners gathered around a couple of the tables. The restaurant is sparsely decorated, but it is filled with warmth and courtesy exuded by the friendly waitresses. I had the bibimbap from the lunch set menu, which came with three sides including kimchee. For some reason it didn't come with raw egg though. The service is a little slow at time despite it not being very busy when we visited. It's a good spot if you want somewhere quiet to catch up with a friend or two over a long lunch.

Great little Korean restaurant, out of the hustle and bustle the atmosphere is quaint and chilled...very friendly Be lovely for a romantic meal for a first date It's also good for lunch/dinner times, they don't rush you out the door Average price for a main is £6-10 The dishes are ok portions you'll get full on them but mostly a one person per portion The food is well flavoured and authentic As for alcohol I believe it's just a selection of sake, beer or plum wine I have ordered The kimchi rice cakes Noodles and meat bibimbap

Highlight Dishes:

  • Fried Chicken: Served quickly and generously, this dish has captivated many. Whether you prefer the Yangneum or lemon flavor, each offers a unique twist on the classic.
  • Kimchi Stew: With a warming essence, this dish has been noted for its sizable portions and delicious flavors, perfect alongside a bowl of rice to soak up the rich broth.
  • Bulgogi: Thinly sliced and marinated, it's a must-try for any meat lover, hailed for its authentic taste.
  • Japjae: While this dish may have a heavy sesame oil presence, it still delights many patrons with its savory character.

However, not every dish has received unanimous praise. Some diners have expressed disappointment with items like the jiajangmyeong and the costly pickled side dishes. The absence of traditional banchan (side dishes) has left some longing for more authenticity. Nonetheless, the essence of Korean dining — sharing and experiencing diverse flavors — shines through in the main courses.
